Ian Folkson (GB) : Dirkach preview

Dirkach Prototype
- FSR V 15cc -

In a week, the championship of the World in 15cc will be again reallocated. Ian Folkson is determined to take away the championship of the World 2002 FSR-V 15. To succeded, Ian realized a prototype named " Dirkach ".

Front view :

The shape remains very rounded off.
Ian closed everything on the top. Only two small air inlets are perceptible for the engine.
Ian uses a driving bonnet which he opens to start his boat. Ian did not think useful to make, as Sébastien Vidémont ( F ) or Eric Costa ( F ), a system to start closed bonnet.

Ian always uses an aerodynamic handle which is supposed to allow him also a better support on the water.
Top view :

The prototype Dirkach surprises by huge back cover. He completely locked the exhaust pipe, protecting it at the same opportunity from all the future shocks. Inconvenience, it is impossible to use the new pipe 15 of CMB (that made by PICCO!!).

Her radio box is completely hidden, just a trapdoor to reach the power switch. It is beautiful but not always practice.
The other novelty: to lower his gravity center, Ian realized his own tank. It is not new because during a previous report on his 3.5cc boat, he already presented us his technique (to see report...).

Ian uses two flaps under his boat. A rather small one the back tray and the other one on the right-hand side even smaller.
The shape of the bottom is rather simple. There is almost no wedge. Ian clarified that, afterward, he would position wedges necessary to stabilize his hull. But even without wedge its hull is very stable and especially turns very well to the left. However, Ian should find a solution so that his hull behaves better in the central buoy because she does not allow him at the moment to attack in this place of the race.

About engine, Ian use the last CMB 90 evo 2002.

Ian is faithful to CMB since very for a long time. He is the CMB reseller for England.

For the next World championships in Poland, he will use the last engine of the range 90 of CMB.
